The Xiaomi Redmi brand has announced a successful first flash sale in China. The company revealed on Weibo that the first batch of 300,000 units of Redmi K60 phones sold out in 5 minutes. He said that users loved the new features like the 1220p screen, wireless charging and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset of the Pro variant.
The Redmi K60 series consists of three phones: a premium Redmi K60E with Dimensity 8200, a vanilla Redmi K60 flagship with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and the Redmi K60 Pro with Sony IMX890 sensor behind the 50MP camera and 120W fast charging .
The number of devices sold seems impressive because a simple math reveals that 100 units are being purchased every second. However, the number is less than the 330,000 units sold of the previous Redmi K50 series, which included only two smartphones; that’s a 10% drop in the first flash sale.
Only time will tell if overall sales of the Redmi K60 will outstrip the previous range, but our weekly survey reveals that only the Redmi K60 Pro is a desirable smartphone.
