A design sketch shared on Weibo gives us a preview of the front of the Huawei P60 Pro and comes with more details on the back. Huawei will presumably join Realme in following Apple’s Dynamic Island design. The phone is set to revert to the pill-shaped form that combines a selfie camera with a depth sensor, similar to what the P40 had (except centered). The depth sensor was scrapped for the P50.

The P60 series launches next week on March 23 and is expected to bring with it a new version of HarmonyOS, presumably v3.1. This should add support for Dynamic Island notifications and shortcuts to work with the new design.

The back of the P60 Pro will have a two-story camera island: the circular element will protrude to give more space to the main module, the other cameras will be positioned on the lower rectangular island.

According to the leaked specs, the primary camera will have a 50MP Sony IMX888 sensor, flanked by a 50MP ultra-wide-angle IM858 and a 64MP (3.5x) OV64B telephoto camera. Last week, Huawei CEO Richard Yu even shared a sample of the telephoto camera. This camera island is also expected to house a 3D ToF sensor and the XMAGE logo signifying Huawei’s internal image processing pipeline.

The diagram gives the dimensions: the phone will measure 176.6mm high, 74mm wide and 7.6mm thick (without the camera bump).

Either way, additional specs include a 6.6-inch QHD+ display, which will have curved sides, if the scheme is to be believed. The P60 Pro will be powered by a 4G version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and a 5,000mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.

The Huawei P60 Pro will arrive next week and will be joined by the vanilla P60, we also expect to see a new foldable, the Huawei Mate X3.
