Xiaomi’s Redmi launched the Redmi A1 in India early last month and today the company introduced the Plus model in the Asian country. It is available in 2GB / 32GB and 3GB / 32GB configurations, priced at INR7,499 ($ 91 / € 93) and INR8,499 ($ 103 / € 105), respectively.
However, as part of the Diwali celebration, both versions will be sold at a discount of INR500 ($ 6 / € 6) for a limited time. You can buy one in black, light blue or light green color starting October 17 via Xiaomi’s official Indian website, Flipkart, Mi.com, and offline retail stores across the country.

However, the Redmi A1 + is not a completely new smartphone. It’s a Redmi A1 with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 3GB RAM option. The Redmi A1 is available in a single 2GB / 32GB configuration in India and is available for INR6,299 ($ 76 / € 78) via Xiaomi’s Indian website and Amazon.in.
The Redmi A1 + is powered by the Helio A22 SoC and runs the MIUI 12 based on Android 12 (Go Edition). It is built around a 6.52-inch HD + display with a notch for the 5MP selfie camera and its rear panel, with a leather finish, sports a dual-camera system that includes an 8MP main camera and a QVGA unit.

The rest of the highlights of the Redmi A1 Plus include a 3.5mm headphone jack, a dedicated microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 512GB, and a 5,000mAh battery charged via a microUSB port for up to 10 W.
