That was quick, the newly announced Realme 9 is now at HQ and we’ve unzipped it for you.
This is the 4G version with a Snapdragon 680 chip, 108MP main camera and 5,000mAh, which starts at € 280 for the 6 / 128GB base coat and in our case comes in this adorable Sunburst Gold.
Adhering to Realme’s usual high standards, the Realme 9 comes with a SIM tool, USB cable, 33W charger and carrying case.
The phone has the distinct Realme design, shared by recent models with a mostly flat front, all display and a dazzling finish under the back panel. Sunburst Gold has a wrinkled sand dune or silk effect if you want to forgive the leap of whimsy. It deceives the eye that there is an uneven sensation on the flat surface. Most impressive is how vivid the yellow of the rear panel becomes when hit directly by the light.

As far as specs are concerned, the Realme 9 is a superhero for its price. It offers a 6.4-inch AMOLED with 90Hz refresh rate and three rear cameras, two of which are useful: the 108MP main shooter and an 8MP ultrawide. The battery is a large 5,000mAh pack, there is a large 128GB storage that can be further expanded through the microSD slot. There is a second SIM slot – what’s wrong?
A nice little perk of the Realme 9’s design, the three lens barrels on the back are visible through the frosted glass-like surface of the camera island.
