Ming-Chi Kuo delivered his latest note to investors with some interesting predictions about upcoming iPhones. The iPhone 15 lineup will feature a new updated ultra-wideband chip that will improve integration with Vision Pro headphones.

Apple has used the same U1 UWB chip from the iPhone 11. According to Kuo, the U2 will go from 16nm (on the U1) to 7nm, improving performance and power consumption.

Apple’s U1 chip is also found in the Watch series 6 and later, the HomePod mini, the second-generation HomePod, the new AirPods Pro case, and AirTags. The U1 enables Find My, Handoff, Precision Search, and AirDrop features.

The other piece of news is next year’s iPhone 16 series, which will reportedly make the jump to Wi-Fi 7. This is another way to make the Vision Pro work better with the iPhone.

In the Wi-Fi Alliance’s own words, Wi-Fi 7 enables imperceptible levels of latency and lifelike responsiveness in VR and AR content.
