The Moto X40 series is expected to arrive on December 15 when Motorola is holding an event in China. We’re expecting two devices: a vanilla Moto X40 and a Moto X40 Pro, and today’s 3C listing revealed that the former will support 125W fast charging, but will also have a slower 68W option.
Motorola XT2301-5
Currently, the 125W standard (20V/6.25A output) is the fastest for a Motorola smartphone and we’ve seen this in the X30 Pro and Edge 30 Ultra. The XT2301-5 will be the first Moto Vanilla to get triple-digit fast charging, which would be a huge selling point for the device.
The information about the two charging options lines up with the two rumors we’ve seen previously about TENAA: one with a 5,000mAh battery, the other with a 4,500mAh. It’s safe to say that only the latter will support 125W as the device needs physical space for the fast charging hardware.
