In the beginning, you will have to progress in the story mode because most of the content like challenges, game features, etc. they are unlocked at the start. Once you’re done with team building, it’s time to learn the battle mechanics. Characters in battle use their skills to defeat enemies. Most characters excel in four DPS skills; AoE (hit all enemies), F.Damage (hit front enemy), M.Damage (hit center enemy), and R.Damage (hit rear enemy). Depending on the missions or the enemy, you should adjust the squad.

At the top center of the screen, you can control the duration of the battle, the number of rounds: in some missions you have to defeat the enemy team in a certain number of rounds.

Using skills in battles: –

There are three types of skills a character possesses; normal ability, climax ability, and passive ability. Normal skill requires skill points, climax skill requires climax points, and passive skills are unlocked by increasing the character’s star level.

At the bottom center of the battle screen, you can check the skills of the character whose turn it is to attack, and just below the skills, two bars show the number of skill points (blue dots), climax points (yellow dots). Skill points are earned by playing turns. And, as you use skills that require skill points, you get climax points. For example, spending 3 skill points to cast a normal skill gives (3) climax points.

With climax points, you can cast the last climax skill.

At the top of the battle screen, you can check your character and enemy’s HP. Once the character/enemy loses all HP, he will disappear/die.

How to get the characters?

You can get the characters from the gacha. Navigate to the home screen and then tap on the gacha option on the screen. There you will see many banners – well most of them are blocked due to level restrictions. You can access the Gacha(N) banner at the start. Tap it -> you are now on the Buy Gacha screen.

In the lower left corner of that screen, select the event banner (in the event banner, the game increases the drop rate of a specific character; for example: Asuna UP drop rate, drop rate of Kirito UP) or normal banner. Another banner is paid, which is a perfect 10. You will need to spend $10 on that gacha. You can mix for free until you get the best character. Once you get that character, claim it by spending $10. If you are a f2p player, use the event banner or the regular banner.

In those banners, you can use gacha voucher. Gacha coupons can be obtained by completing quests.

Make characters stronger

To level up: –

• You can level up your character by using foods. Go to character profile from character menu -> tap level bar under stars -> level -> use foods (can be obtained from chapter mode stages or other game sources).
• Also, characters gain EXP from battles. Just add that character in the team and win the battles.
• Increasing character level improves attributes like HP, DEF, ATK

Star: –

• Star Level unlocks new skills and improves attributes.
• Level up or raise your star level using upgrade material (can be obtained from story mode)
• Character -> Character Profile -> Stars -> Rank Up

• Equip gears
• Upgrade the gears

Awaken the character

Activate cross-skills

All characters have cross-skills. Cross Skill activates when you pair two specific characters in the party; a main character and a supporting character. To check character’s partner to activate cross skill, go to her profile-> cross-> cross skill-> there you can see her partner. For example: Kuroneko and Kirino.

The other way to check the details of cross-skills; in the squad editing screen, select a character and tap the cross-skills button on the right side. This will take you to the character’s profile page where you can check his partner and cross-skill buff. You will see a cross-ability icon above the pair when the cross-ability is activated.

Build the team wisely

Depending on the missions, you have to build the team. For example, if the mission is to kill the frontline enemy, build the team of characters who excel at dealing damage to the frontline enemy. Same strategy when it comes to dealing with the guy in the back or center. If your mission is to kill all enemies in certain rounds, build your team of characters who excel at AoE damage.
