Instagram direct messages (DMs) are getting a bunch of new features. First, editing: you can do this up to 15 minutes after sending the message. To edit a message, simply press and hold on it and then choose “edit” from the drop-down menu.

Speaking of direct messages, you can now enable or disable read receipts for all or specific chats. You can do this in your account settings. This setting can be changed at any time, but please note that read receipts are not available for end-to-end encrypted chats.

You can also pin your favorite chats to the top of the inbox, up to three. This way you won’t need to keep scrolling to find your best friends or family (or your favorite bands). To pin a chat, swipe left or tap and hold it, then tap “Pin.” Of course any thread can be unblocked at any time.

Instagram now gives you the ability to save your favorite stickers in DMs for easy access later by pressing and holding any sticker you want to save. It will then be waiting for you at the top of the stickers section. Plus, you can now reply to any message with stickers, GIFs, videos, photos, and voice messages.
