MIUI 14 features an improved system architecture with pre-installed apps that take up less space and also use less power leading to better performance. Users will also find more customization options with a completely new widget format, home screen folders and “Super Icons”. Privacy is also reviewed with no user data stored in the cloud and all actions performed locally on the device.

Mi AI voice assistant will gain more features such as document scanning, translations, call assistant with a spam call filter. Xiaomi has also overhauled the pairing and connection stability with other Xiaomi devices such as headsets, tablets and TVs. There is an improved search function in the settings with search history and results sorted by categories. MIUI 14 also features support for more wireless card readers and a boost in connection speed using mobile data when the Wi-Fi signal is weak.
